Do you Astroturf?

The term is over 10 years old, however we’re pretty sure only some PR people know about it. Essentially “astroturfing” is the creation – by marketing and pr people – of (they hope) seemingly genuine and spontaneous grassroots movements.

Unfortunately with social media, this is happening more and more, as PR people create fake blogs, post anonymous comments and even create entirely fake online personas. Personally, we’ve never been asked to do something like this and would promptly refuse, if asked.

Is GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson astoturfing? You decide.
